Hi! I am Margot and I love to travel!

During my Industrial Design studies, I developed a passion for clever design where form follows function. The following 15 years I specialized as a luggage designer, as such combining my travel itch and my love to stitch :-)
Recently I took a solo trip around the world. While preparing for my big adventure, I couldn't find a money belt that was both comfortable and practical, so I made one myself. A new type of money belt was born.
When 6 months later I returned from my travels, I had many ideas on how to improve the prototype I had been traveling with and turn it into the ideal money belt for traveling woman. Nevertheless, for a couple of months, the prototype and the dream remained lying on the corner of my sewing table, untouched…
Finally my friend Maaike stepped in and encouraged me to give it a go. Since we both love traveling, and love products that make it a fun and carefree experience, we decided to join forces. Unfortunately along the way, her family situation changed and she could no longer engage herself in the project.
I decided to continue the challenge and launch Wanderwave by myself, supported by my friends and loved ones. It took many months of building prototypes, testing and tweaking to get to a design that I was finally happy with. I am now working hard to make Wanderwave's first product; the Wanderbelt, available to everyone. I hope you will love it as much as I do!

WHY A NEW MONEY BELT?

Losing your passport or other valuables on a trip abroad is a huge headache you want to avoid. If you keep everything in a backpack, because wearing a money belt is usually so uncomfortable, then you can lose everything in one go when your backpack gets stolen, or you misplace your bag in a moment of absent mindedness.
It is therefor highly recommended to keep your travel valuables like your passports, credit cards and money on yourself at all times.
Unfortunately current money belts on the market are:
No wonder that money belts are often seen as a necessary evil, or are avoided all together.
The Wanderbelt solves all the above issues. Specifically designed with female travelers in the mind, it offers a discreet, stress-free and comfi way to carry your valuables safely on your person at all times.
I would love to hear what you think, so feel free to contact me with any questions or thoughts you may have about the Wanderbelt.

Unfortunately current money belts on the market are:
- Uncomfortable: A belt around your waste will push into your belly when you sit down. A pouch that hangs around your neck can give you a sore neck.
- Not discreet: The money belts can be bulky, and when you get something out of it, it is like screaming "I am a tourist" to everyone around you. A waist belt can also be hard to hide if you like wearing low cut trousers.
- Impractical: Different situations required different solutions. You do not need access to your passport, or all of your cash at all times. However, it is handy to have easy access to some pocket money when you need it. The current money belts do not offer a solution that is flexible enough to be practical all of the time.
